Francis Ford Coppola, known for his iconic films, has recently received the title of worst director for his ambitious project, *Megalopolis*, at the Razzies. This comes just days before the Oscars, where Hollywood celebrates its best. The Razzies, on the other hand, highlight the year’s disappointing films.

Coppola expressed his mixed feelings on Instagram, saying he was “thrilled” to accept the award. He mentioned that it takes courage to challenge the norms of modern filmmaking. *Megalopolis*, which stars actors like Adam Driver and Shia LaBeouf, reportedly had a budget of $120 million and faced controversy when its trailer was removed due to fake quotes attributed to critics.
The Razzies acknowledged that even a director as talented as Coppola can stumble. This award comes nearly 50 years after he won an Oscar for *The Godfather Part II*.
In his post, Coppola shared his thoughts on today’s film industry, criticizing its focus on profit over creativity. He thanked the cast and crew of *Megalopolis*, emphasizing that art should transcend commercial interests.
On a similar note, *Madame Web*, a film in Sony’s Spider-Man franchise, also had a rough showing at the Razzies, taking home awards for worst picture, worst screenplay, and worst actress for Dakota Johnson. Critics described the film as a “tangled mess,” criticizing both the plot and performances.
Another big name at the Razzies, *Joker: Folie à Deux*, won awards for worst prequel, remake, rip-off or sequel, and worst screen combo, much to the disappointment of fans expecting a strong follow-up to the 2019 *Joker*.
In lighter news, Pamela Anderson was recognized with the Razzie halo for her role in *The Last Showgirl*, while Jon Voight took home the title of worst supporting actor for *Megalopolis*. Jerry Seinfeld and Amy Schumer also garnered negative nods for their work in *Unfrosted*.
