2025 World Games: Rishabh Yadav Delivers India’s Historic First Medal in Compound Archery!

Hyderabad: Rishabh Yadav has put India on the medal map at the World Games 2025. He clinched a bronze in compound archery, becoming the first Indian to do so at this event.

Facing off against fellow Indian Abhishek Verma, Yadav displayed remarkable skill. He started strong, leading the first end 30-29 after hitting three perfect 10s. The second end ended in a tie, but Yadav maintained his edge.

In the third end, both archers scored three perfect tens. However, Verma dropped points in the fourth end, allowing Yadav to extend his lead to 119-117. Impressively, Yadav didn’t miss a single shot in his last nine arrows, sealing his victory at 149-147.

Unfortunately, the mixed team event was disappointing. Verma and his partner Madhura faced South Korea’s Moon Yeeun and Lee Eunho in the first round, losing 151-154. They started off behind, but managed to win the fourth end 40-39. Still, it wasn’t enough to turn the tide, leading to their early exit.

In contrast, Denmark’s Mathias Fullerton and Sofie Louise Dam Marcussen claimed the mixed team title with a narrow victory over Mexico at 156-155.
