Deepti Sharma has also made history. She played a crucial role in India’s first ODI World Cup victory, which saw the team triumph over South Africa by 52 runs. Throughout the tournament, she scored 215 runs and took 22 wickets, making her the only player—male or female—to score 200 runs and take 20 wickets in a single World Cup. This remarkable achievement led to her recognition as Wisden’s Leading Women’s Cricketer.
