2027 NHL Stadium Series: Stars Set to Shine at Cowboys’ Home Turf!

The Dallas Stars made history on January 1, 2020, when they played the Nashville Predators in the Winter Classic at Cotton Bowl Stadium. A remarkable 85,630 fans attended, making it the third-largest crowd ever for an NHL game.

Only two NHL games have seen more than 90,000 fans. The standout was in 2014, when the Toronto Maple Leafs faced the Detroit Red Wings at Michigan Stadium, drawing 105,491 spectators. Just a year later, another huge turnout occurred at Ohio Stadium for the Stadium Series, where 94,751 fans watched the Columbus Blue Jackets defeat the Red Wings.

NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman expressed excitement about the atmosphere in Dallas. He noted, “This place is incredible. We had a great experience at the Cotton Bowl with 84,000 people, and we think it’s going to be even better this time.” Bettman highlighted the stadium’s massive scoreboard and the unique thrill of hosting hockey in such a well-known venue.

The upcoming 2027 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series will be the second outdoor game for the Dallas Stars. The team has reached the Stanley Cup Playoffs six times in the last seven seasons, showcasing their growing success.

Stars owner Tom Gaglardi reflected on their 2020 Winter Classic success. He emphasized that the upcoming series will likely draw the same passion from the fans. “We are thrilled to host this event at AT&T Stadium,” he said, acknowledging the support from Bettman, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, and the entire Jones family.

AT&T Stadium, which opened in 2009, has hosted numerous major events, including Super Bowl XLV and multiple NCAA games. It is known for its adaptability, accommodating everything from football to concerts. In a few years, it will also welcome nine FIFA World Cup matches during the Summer of 2026, further solidifying its status as a premier venue.

As excitement builds for the 2027 Stadium Series, fans are eager for more details, including ticket information. Social media buzz around the event is palpable, with discussions heating up as hockey lovers share plans to attend this historic game.
