Submitting an obituary to the Reading Eagle is straightforward. Most are sent through funeral homes, but families can submit theirs too. Just email the obituary to obituaries@readingeagle.com. You can also attach photos.

Be sure to include the obituary text in a Word document, Google document, or directly in the email. It’s important to verify the death, so include the funeral home’s contact number or a copy of the death certificate. Don’t forget to add your full name, phone number, and address.

All payments need to be made by credit card. Before processing, we’ll send you a proof of the obituary. Keep in mind that the obituary won’t be published until payment is complete.

You can schedule obituaries for future dates, but they must arrive by 3:00 PM the day before publication.
