On Saturday, May 2, join the West Seattle Food Bank for its annual Nourish and Flourish gala. This year, Seattle comedian Scott Losse will grace the event, adding his unique touch with both humor and heart. Losse is known for his relatable takes on life in the Pacific Northwest and is celebrated for connecting with audiences through laughter.
Robbin Peterson, the Development Director at the West Seattle Food Bank, emphasized the importance of humor in tough times. “This event is about nourishing hope,” she said. Scott’s knack for bringing joy aligns perfectly with the community spirit the food bank embodies—neighbors supporting each other through challenges.
Scott has a personal connection to the food bank. His wife Janelle was inspired by her grandmother, one of WSFB’s early volunteers, and chose a career in social services. This showcases the legacy of service in the community—something the food bank witnesses daily.
Last year, WSFB made a significant impact, distributing over 2.25 million pounds of food and assisting more than 23,000 individuals. These efforts help ensure families in West Seattle remain housed and supported.
The gala is set to bring together around 300 community members for a night filled with storytelling and fundraising. All proceeds will support vital programs like food access and housing stability.
