Voicemails and favorites are integrated into the “Calls” tab, simplifying navigation. If you miss the old design, you can switch to “Classic” view anytime. Plus, you can filter calls to see only voicemails, saving you from scrolling through unwanted spam.
Call Screening
Spam calls are a real hassle, but iOS 26 aims to help. There’s a new call screening option that lets you control how unknown callers are handled. You can choose to always ring, have the caller state their reason, or silence unknown numbers entirely. This gives you more power over who gets through.
Improved Visual Intelligence
Visual Intelligence is getting smarter. With the new update, your iPhone can understand more than just the world around you. By using the camera, you can translate signs or even get insights from screenshots. Just take a screenshot and watch as options appear to ask questions or search online.
Spatial Scenes on Your Lock Screen
Using AI, iOS 26 can transform your 2D photos into 3D visuals. This feature lets you tilt your phone to see depth in images. You can even apply this effect to your lock screen. Just customize your background and toggle the Spatial Scenes option to see it in action.
Chat Backgrounds in iMessage
iMessage is becoming more fun and personalized. Now you can add backgrounds to your chats, choosing from photos or preset images. To set it up, tap on a contact name and select a background from the menu. Everyone in the chat using iOS 26 will see it.
A Minimalist Safari Browser
Safari gets a makeover, focusing on simplicity. The controls change to floating bubbles, giving more room for content as you scroll. While this may take some getting used to, it ultimately maximizes your browsing area.
Live Translation for Calls
One standout feature is Live Translation for phone calls. You can talk to someone who speaks a different language, and your iPhone will translate in real-time. It handles the audio translation seamlessly, making communication smoother across language barriers. Currently, it supports English, French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish, with more languages likely to come.
