Iconic Tumalo Food Truck Lost to Early Morning Blaze: Accidental Fire Claims Local Favorite

Early Monday morning, a fire broke out at a food truck in Tumalo, Oregon. Bend Fire & Rescue and the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office rushed to the scene around 1 a.m. They found flames bursting through the roof of the popular Sandos & Smash food truck.

The quick response from firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to nearby food carts and large propane tanks. Fortunately, the food truck was empty when they arrived, and the team managed to extinguish the flames quickly. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported.

Fire Inspector Jason Kamperman shared that the cause of the fire is still under investigation. However, the initial assessment suggests it was accidental. Sadly, the damage is significant, and the food truck and its contents are deemed a total loss.
