Iredell Health System Welcomes New Food Service Director: Enhancing Culinary Care for Patients

Stacey Bedingfield has joined Iredell Health System as the new director of Food Service.

With over 25 years in the food service industry, Stacey brings a wealth of experience. Her expertise covers team leadership, food safety, and culinary arts. She graduated from the Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts and also holds a Certification in Dietary Management from the Orlando Technical Institute. This role allows her to apply her skills in a community health setting.

“I’m thrilled to use my experience to positively impact the lives of those we serve,” Stacey said. She emphasizes the importance of being an inspiring leader for her new team.

Stacey chose Iredell Health because of its strong reputation as a high-performing health system. She appreciates the close-knit environment, which allows her to contribute to community care. “I want to help individuals during their hospital stay and in community outreach,” she adds.

Leadership at Iredell is equally optimistic. “Stacey will be a great asset. She has shown outstanding leadership and creativity in her past roles,” said Larry Pizzorni, assistant vice president of Ancillary Services.

Outside of work, Stacey values family time with her husband and two children. Her daughter is studying music education and theater, while her son is pursuing a degree in Veterinary Medicine. They share their home with three dogs and one cat. “I’m a foodie,” she shares. “There’s nothing better than enjoying great food at concerts or festivals.”

In recent years, there’s been a growing interest in healthy food options within healthcare settings. A 2022 survey by the American Hospital Association found that over 70% of hospitals are focusing on improving food quality for patients. This shift is part of a broader trend towards enhancing patient care by addressing nutrition as a key component of health.

As Iredell Health System moves forward, they are optimistic about the impact of Stacey’s leadership. Her passion for food and community aligns perfectly with their mission of inspiring wellness.
