Signal Takes Stand Against Windows Recall: Why Microsoft Leaves No Alternatives for Users

Further complicating matters, Beaumont pointed out that Microsoft hasn’t given developers tools to prevent their app content from being indexed. This puts apps like Signal in a tough position. With no way to block Recall specifically on Windows, Signal has found an alternative. They are using a Digital Rights Management (DRM) feature designed to protect copyrighted content. This clever workaround aims to enhance user privacy without relying on official support from Microsoft.
