Vande Bharat Sleeper: Transforming Overnight Travel from Delhi to Secunderabad

The Vande Bharat Sleeper train has changed the game for overnight trips between New Delhi and Secunderabad. Covering the distance of 1,667 km in just 20 hours, this high-speed train offers a fresh and comfortable travel experience.

This train isn’t just a new addition; it is part of Indian Railways’ efforts to modernize train travel. With a top speed of 160 km/h, it outpaces the Rajdhani and Duronto trains, making it the fastest option on this route. It features 16 coaches with a mix of accommodation: 11 AC three-tier, 4 AC two-tier, and 1 First Class AC coach.

Passengers can enjoy ergonomic sleeping berths, personal charging ports, and modern washrooms. The onboard catering adds to the convenience, ensuring that passengers have everything they need for a pleasant journey.

Key stops along the route such as Agra, Gwalior, and Bhopal make it accessible for many travelers. The train departs New Delhi at 8:50 PM, arriving in Secunderabad the next evening at 8:00 PM. This schedule allows for productive daytime hours, which is ideal for those who want to maximize their trip.

Fares are competitive too, beginning at ₹3,600 for AC three-tier, ₹4,800 for AC two-tier, and ₹6,000 for First Class AC. Given the enhanced travel experience, these prices are reasonable.

Indian Railways plans to introduce the Vande Bharat Sleeper model on other busy routes, aiming to provide more energy-efficient and passenger-friendly travel options.

In a recent online survey, 78% of respondents expressed excitement about the new sleeper service, highlighting its potential to improve long-distance travel comfort across India. With the Vande Bharat Sleeper, overnight travel is not only more comfortable but also sets a new standard in Indian Railways.
