Tom Cruise wasn’t the only standout during the filming of Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning. Hayley Atwell shared a surprising detail on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. While shooting a fight scene, she was almost nine months pregnant!

“During this fight sequence, I came back to it a few times to add elements. I’m actually eight and a half months pregnant,” she told Fallon with a laugh. She was proud to embrace the challenge, despite the support from the crew to use a stunt double.

“I was taken care of well,” Atwell explained. “They offered, ‘You can sit down and we’ll have a stunt double do it.’ But I worked hard to get here. I wanted to do it myself!”

Her determination wasn’t the only unique experience during filming. The cast also learned how to dog sled in Norway, which Atwell described as “invigorating and surreal.” In a memorable moment, they had to pause filming because a polar bear casually strolled across the set.

“Stopping to watch a polar bear was something I never imagined I’d say,” she recalled. The crew even lived on an icebreaker ship, fostering teamwork through shared meals and games at night. This bond was crucial, especially for filming on the ice.
