Strengthening Alliances: All-Party Delegation Engages with Saudi Officials to Reinforce India’s Stance Against Terrorism

Riyadh: A parliamentary delegation from India, led by BJP MP Baijayant Panda, recently met with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Adel Al-Jubeir. They discussed the commitment of both nations to combat terrorism, emphasizing India’s zero-tolerance policy.

The delegation also engaged with the Shura Council, where they met Deputy Speaker Mishaal Al-Sulami and Major General Abdulrahman Alharbi, Chair of the India-Saudi Friendship Committee. They appreciated Saudi Arabia’s stance against terrorism and highlighted India’s resolve in this area.

During their discussions, they explored ways to strengthen India-Saudi relations and addressed other mutual interests, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency. Panda noted the importance of their dynamic partnership, grounded in trust and shared goals.

The delegation expressed gratitude for the warm reception they received. In a heartfelt moment, they honored Mahatma Gandhi with floral tributes, celebrating his messages of peace and tolerance.

Aside from meeting political leaders, the delegation will also connect with Indian community members in Saudi Arabia. Recent tensions between India and Pakistan are notable; India recently carried out military strikes in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, responding to threats against its military bases.

Overall, this visit underscores the growing cooperation between India and Saudi Arabia, particularly in their united front against terrorism. For more insights on global relations, visit The Diplomat.
