As companies rethink how employees return to the office, food options are becoming more important for attracting and keeping talent. Sodexo, a leader in workplace dining, has partnered with Hungry, a food tech platform. This new alliance connects businesses with top chefs and local restaurants across 19 major cities. The aim? To enhance workplace dining to better match what employees want.
Brent Bloomberg, Sodexo North America’s Chief Strategy and Development Officer, shared insights on the partnership. He explained that combining Sodexo’s expertise with Hungry’s innovative approach offers a flexible solution suitable for corporate offices and university campuses alike. “We’re responding to a growing demand for local and diverse food options,” he said.
David Bailey, CEO of Sodexo’s U.S. Corporate Services, echoed this sentiment. “Today’s employees want their favorite foods at work,” he noted. By collaborating with Hungry, Sodexo hopes to broaden the range and quality of food experiences for clients and their staff.
This partnership grants Sodexo access to a vast network of over 1,500 food partners through Hungry. It’ll start rolling out with clients that fit the initiative’s vision.
Jeff Grass, CEO of Hungry, called this partnership a significant milestone. He emphasized the collaboration’s potential to improve well-being through food, now bolstered by Sodexo’s resources. “We view this as the start of a strong, long-term relationship,” he said.
Recent studies highlight the impact of workplace food. A survey conducted by Upwork found that 43% of workplace preferences are shaped by food offerings. In a world where employee satisfaction is crucial, companies are recognizing that good food can lead to happier, more productive teams.
Moreover, social media trends reveal a growing enthusiasm for diverse cuisines and healthier options in workplaces, with hashtags like #FoodAtWork gaining traction. It’s clear that food is more than just a meal—it’s a way to connect and engage employees in a meaningful way.
In a nutshell, as the workplace evolves, so do the food expectations. This partnership between Sodexo and Hungry is a step forward in meeting those changing demands, making the office a more inviting place for everyone.
