Devcom Kicks Off World Environment Day with Prestigious Awards and Insightful Conference in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, JUN 3 /DNA/ – Devcom-Pakistan kicked off World Environment Day celebrations with the Pakistan Environmental Awards and Conference of Best Practices 2025. This year’s theme was “Beyond Plastic Waste – Navigating Climate and Environmental Risks.” The event brought together leaders in environmental policy, science, and sustainable development.

World Environment Day, celebrated every June 5 since 1973, is the largest global platform for raising environmental awareness. This year, South Korea is hosting the event, emphasizing the urgent need to tackle plastic pollution—a major threat to climatic goals and biodiversity.

The conference inspired action and engagement. Notable figures included Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed and Dr. Sebastian Paust from the German Embassy. They emphasized the importance of sustainability in national policy.
