Exciting news for gamers! Tomorrow, a free upgrade for *No Man’s Sky* will be available on the Nintendo Switch 2. Hello Games has revealed that this special edition is set to launch alongside the new console.
Sean Murray, the founder of Hello Games, describes the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition as a “huge leap forward” compared to the original version. The game will support a higher resolution and frame rate, delivering 1080p at 40fps in handheld mode, and 1440p at 30fps when docked. This version also features high-resolution textures, improved pixel density, a revamped user interface, and enhanced controls with touch, gyroscope, and cross-save capabilities. Full multiplayer support is also included—something the original Switch version lacked.
According to Murray, the team has had access to the Switch 2 development kits for about a year, working on fine-tuning the game in a “secret room.”
In addition to this upgrade, a new *Beacon* update will be released for all systems today, including the original Switch. This update introduces significant changes to the settlement system. Players can now build massive towns, become mayors, and interact with the residents. If building isn’t your thing, you can join in protecting these settlements from pirates—just like a true space cowboy.
Recent industry trends show that the gaming market is eager for innovative titles on new platforms. Studies indicate a growing demand for cross-platform play and high-quality graphics. As technology advances, gamers are increasingly seeking immersive experiences that are both visually appealing and socially engaging.
With this free upgrade and the new content, it seems Hello Games is eager to ensure that players experience the best that *No Man’s Sky* has to offer. So, what do you think about these changes? Are you ready to explore the universe on your new Switch 2?
