Chris Pratt and Nick Offerman recently honored their “Parks and Recreation” co-star, Jonathan Joss, who tragically passed away this week. Joss was shot in front of his home in San Antonio, Texas. He was only 59 years old and played Chief Ken Hotate in the beloved NBC sitcom.

Pratt shared his sadness on Instagram, saying, “Damn. RIP Jonathan. Always such a kind dude. Sad to see. Prayers up. Hug your loved ones.” Offerman, known for his role as Ron Swanson, spoke to People magazine, expressing how heartbroken the cast is over Joss’s death. He said, “Jonathan was such a sweet guy. A terrible tragedy.”

Cynthia Nixon, although not part of the show, also paid her respects. She shared a heartfelt photo of Joss, stating her devastation upon hearing the news. Nixon highlighted claims from Joss’s husband that he was targeted due to his sexuality. “We will not let this stand,” she added.

The San Antonio Police Department stated that they found “no evidence” of a hate crime related to Joss’s death. However, ongoing investigations revealed a complicated history between Joss and the suspect, Sigfredo Alvarez Ceja. Reports suggest that their conflicts had been ongoing for years and were even being mediated by police.
