Vernon Theatre Group Reunites to Bring Classic Horror Show Back to Life!

Get ready for a fun reunion! Big Apple Productions is bringing back *The Rocky Horror Show* for its 10th anniversary. The show runs from June 12 to 28 at the newly named Skin and Sin ballroom in the Prestige Hotel Vernon.

This year, the artistic director Melina Schein promises a bold experience. “We never play it safe, and this year is no exception,” she says. They’ve taken everything fans love and turned it up a notch.

Returning to the stage is Brian Martin, the morning show co-host from Vernon’s Beach Radio. He’s stepping into the iconic role of Frank-N-Furter. “We’re excited to be in this cool new venue,” Martin shares. “It’s the perfect place to bring Rocky back to life!”

This production is especially exciting because it includes live music. The G-Strings Live Band, a six-piece ensemble, adds a unique touch. Martin notes, “Performing with a rock band is an absolute rush for both us and the audience.”

Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to the show, Schein guarantees a memorable experience. “Expect to feel a little dirty, but in the best possible way,” she insists.

*The Rocky Horror Show* first took the stage in the Okanagan in 2014 and quickly became a favorite. It ran every year until 2018, when Schein explored new productions like *Beauty and the Beast* and *Cabaret*.

The show is a brisk 90 minutes, running without an intermission. Performances are scheduled for Thursdays at 8 p.m. and double features on Fridays and Saturdays at 6 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Please note, it’s recommended for those 18 and older, and prop throwing isn’t allowed.

Tickets are priced at $59.25. You can find them at the Ticket Seller’s website or by calling 250-549-7469 (SHOW).

As *The Rocky Horror Show* celebrates a decade, it reflects a growing trend in local theater—audiences craving unique, immersive experiences. According to a recent survey by Theatre Communications Group, 72% of theatergoers feel that live performances are essential for community connection. If you’re in the area, this reunion promises to be an event you won’t want to miss!
