Since stepping into my role as acting NASA Administrator, I’m dedicated to serving both the agency and our mission. This commitment remains firm as we navigate this transition period together. My goal is to provide steady leadership until a permanent leader is appointed.

Here’s a snapshot of our recent achievements:

• The IXPE spacecraft achieved a major milestone by capturing X-ray polarization from a flaring magnetar. This breakthrough enriches our understanding of these extreme cosmic entities.
• The X-59 supersonic demonstrator is progressing well, currently in the crucial weight and balance phase. This ensures it meets our design predictions before we move on to low-speed taxi tests.
• NASA collaborated on testing a Cessna Caravan in Montana to evaluate automated taxi and runway safety technology. This effort, involving Boeing and the FAA, utilizes AI and machine learning for a safer aviation future.
• The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope successfully passed its vibration tests. This is a vital step for ensuring it can endure the launch process, paving the way for groundbreaking discoveries in dark energy and exoplanets.
• On the International Space Station, the Expedition 73 crew made significant strides in scientific research, including computer upgrades and using 3D imaging to study bacteria samples.

Looking forward, we’re introducing voluntary separation options, like a Deferred Resignation Program (DRP), to manage our workforce transitions carefully and transparently.

Our focus remains on achieving our mission goals. We are committed to the President’s vision for space exploration and will continue collaborating with our global partners to make it happen. Teamwork is crucial to our success.
