Get Ready for Fun: Ha Ha Ha Kidzfest Returns to Penticton with Thrilling Activities!

The Ha Ha Ha Kidzfest brought smiles and excitement to Penticton from June 5 to 7, transforming Okanagan Lake Park into a vibrant playground for kids. With live performances from entertainers across Canada and the debut of the stunning art installation "Luminarium: Arborialis," the festival attracted thousands of visitors.

Jacki Kliever, the festival coordinator, noted that around 1,400 students attended during field trip days on Thursday and Friday. Saturday opened up the fun to the general public and was packed with activities.

This year marked the festival’s fifth anniversary. It previously took place in Gyro Park, but the move to the larger Okanagan Lake Park allowed for more space and the unique artistic experience of "Luminarium: Arborialis." This 11,000-square-foot interactive exhibit features colorful domes and winding pathways, creating a whimsical environment for kids and families. Kliever mentioned, “It’s been almost two years in the works to get it here,” highlighting the effort put into bringing this exhibit to life in British Columbia.

The festival showcased a variety of entertainment, including music, dance, and comedy. Kliever emphasized their commitment to fresh experiences each year, saying, “When you come to Kidzfest year after year, it’s a different group.” It’s a way to keep the excitement alive for returning families.

In addition to entertainment, local vendors offered food, crafts, and outdoor games. Non-profit groups also set up activities, encouraging community involvement.

As the festival concluded, “Luminarium: Arborialis” continued to welcome visitors for an extra day. This art display is currently only available in Toronto elsewhere in Canada, making it a rare treat for those in Penticton.

Such events not only provide entertainment but also strengthen community ties and promote local culture.
