Rise N Shine Donuts at 8001 Quaker had 18 violations. Some issues included:

  • Milk sitting out at 72 degrees (it should be 41 or colder).
  • A knife touching a box of gloves.
  • Dirty cloths on utensils.
  • Employees not washing hands between tasks.
  • Bare hands used to turn off a faucet.

Most violations were corrected during the inspection.

Aranda’s Taqueria at 4001 34th St. faced 19 violations, such as:

  • Chicken above the safe temperature.
  • Cooked beef left out without refrigeration.
  • Raw meat stored above ready-to-eat items.
  • Hand sinks used for storage, risking cross-contamination.

Again, many issues were addressed on-site by the inspector.

Texas Trail inside Stripes at 5802 98th St. had 20 violations:

  • Raw meats stored improperly.
  • Food items missing date marks.
  • A lack of sanitization for some kitchen tools.
  • Personal drinks left on prep tables.

The inspector noted a lack of food safety knowledge based on the violations.

On a brighter note, here are the Top Performers:

  • Dutch Bros Coffee at 1711 Marsh Sharp Freeway
  • Whataburger at 6414 82nd
  • Vega’s Mobile Unit (food truck)
