Celebrating Achievement: Casey Gorczyca Graduates with a Master’s in Esports Administration
Casey Edward Gorczyca proudly graduated from Clark University on May 19, earning a Master of Science in Sport-Esports Administration. This milestone follows his earlier graduation from Parsippany Hills High School in 2020.
Clark University celebrated a significant day, awarding 468 undergraduate and 1,014 advanced degrees during its 121st commencement at the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. President David B. Fithian encouraged graduates to bask in their achievements. He emphasized the importance of recognizing their growth and the support from friends and family.
Esther Duflo, a professor at MIT and an expert in development economics, delivered the commencement address. She urged graduates not to view the world as purely competitive. “Think about the kindness that got you here, and consider what you can do to spread that kindness further,” she said.
Another inspiring voice was Ari Shapiro, an NPR journalist, who motivated the graduates to help those around them. He reminded them that everyone carries a legacy and has a role in a larger community. “Ask yourself, ‘How can I be helpful?’” he encouraged.
Kumar Gaurav, a first-generation college student from India who earned his MBA, shared his journey with fellow graduates. His story reflects the diverse backgrounds found within this graduating class, which included students from 41 states and 35 countries.
As the day wrapped up, President Fithian highlighted the graduates’ potential to tackle global challenges and make an impact wherever they go.
The rise of esports is a notable trend. According to recent research by Newzoo, the global esports audience is expected to reach over 600 million in the next few years. This growth underscores the relevance of degrees like Gorczyca’s in today’s educational landscape.
