Hey Bangor! It’s that exciting time of the year—food truck season is back! I’ve always had a bit of a love affair with food trucks, imagining a reality show where I travel and taste all the delicious dishes out there. While that dream might stay just that, I’m thrilled we have plenty of tasty options right here in Bangor.
One of the stars of the local scene is The Lobstah Buoy. Located at 268 Odlin Road, right across from Tim Horton’s, they are gearing up to kick off their ninth season this Wednesday. Their opening was slightly delayed due to personal matters, but they’re ready to serve up some delicious food starting this week!
The Lobstah Buoy isn’t just another food truck. Food Network recognized it as one of the best in the country! Just recently, it was voted “Best Food Truck” in Bangor Metro’s Best Restaurants 2025 poll. Quite an achievement!
They’ll be open on weekdays from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, although hours may change as the season warms up. If you’re a fan of fresh Maine lobster, this is the place to be. They use only fresh, never frozen lobster. The menu is diverse, offering seafood and non-seafood options alike.
Craving something specific? You’ll find lobster rolls in three sizes: baby buoy (2oz), quarter pound, and half pound. The selection doesn’t stop there; you can also enjoy fried whole belly clams, clam strips, fish and chips, crab rolls, sea scallops, and shrimp. Each seafood dish comes with fresh-cut fries and coleslaw. Not in the mood for seafood? They’ve got cheeseburgers, hot pastrami sandwiches, and red hot dogs too. And don’t forget to save room for dessert—whoopie pies and strawberry shortcakes are waiting for you!
The Lobstah Buoy proudly calls itself “Greater Bangor’s Original Fresh Shucked Food Truck.” They’re ready to roll into an exciting spring and summer this year. If you want to keep up with all their delicious offerings, check out their Facebook page.
Food trucks like The Lobstah Buoy are part of a growing trend. According to a recent survey, the food truck industry in the U.S. generates approximately $2 billion annually. This rise is due in part to the convenience and variety that food trucks offer. Social media plays a huge role in this trend too; people often share their favorite finds, leading to buzz around local gems.
It’s a great time to explore what Bangor’s food truck scene has to offer. Enjoy the flavors and make some tasty memories this season!
