Brookings — The Brookings Health System Foundation is gearing up for its 16th annual Aiming to Inspire Health fundraiser on August 7, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Brookings Gun Club. This exciting event aims to raise funds for a new advanced life support ambulance.
“We truly need this new ambulance due to rising costs and supply chain issues,” said Brittany Venekamp, the Foundation Director. “Currently, we’re on a 30-month waiting list, having already waited 12 months. Our goal is to ensure that the Brookings community has access to safe, timely pre-hospital care.”
With assistance from sponsor Brookings Radio, everyone is welcome to participate. Adult teams of four can register for $300, while youth teams under 18 pay $250. Individuals can also sign up. The tournament will include a 50-round sporting clays course, with ammo provided by Runnings of Brookings. Mulligans can be bought as well, and various outdoor games will add to the fun.
Registration covers ammunition and a meal from Midwest Fresh Catering, sponsored by Sanford Health Brookings Clinic. Participants will also have a chance to win over $2,000 in prizes. To register, visit brookingshealth.org/AIH. The deadline is July 31.
Alongside the tournament, a raffle will take place, featuring a grand prize of a 2025 Polaris Ranger 1000 utility vehicle, valued at $17,999. This UTV includes impressive features like a 61-horsepower engine and a towing capacity of 2,500 lbs. However, winners will be responsible for taxes and registration fees.
Only 600 raffle tickets will be available, priced at $60 each. Discounts apply for purchasing multiple tickets. The drawing will happen at the tournament’s end, and participants do not need to be present to win. Tickets can be bought online at brookingshealth.org/Raffle or by calling Brookings Health System Foundation at 605-696-8045.
If you’re interested in sponsoring the event, reach out to Venekamp at 605-696-8045 or via email at foundation@brookingshealth.org. To learn more about the foundation, visit brookingshealth.org/Foundation.
