ANN ARBOR, MI — Rachel Dawson, a former diversity and inclusion administrator at the University of Michigan, plans to sue the university. She claims she faced racial discrimination and was treated unfairly compared to her non-Black coworkers.
Dawson’s troubles began after she was accused of making antisemitic remarks during a March 2024 conference. According to a notice of intention to file suit that was published by the Detroit Free Press, she was fired following an investigation prompted by this accusation. Dawson is seeking compensation for lost wages, emotional distress, and other damages.
