Raphe mPhibr Secures $100 Million Investment Led by General Catalyst: A Game Changer in Defence Technology

Raphe mPhibr, a leading drone and aircraft systems manufacturer from India, has raised a remarkable $100 million in a recent funding round spearheaded by General Catalyst. Other investors included Amal Parikh, Think Investments, and several affluent family offices. This marks the largest funding event ever for an Indian aerospace company, bringing Raphe mPhibr’s total capital to $145 million.

Founded in 2016, the Noida-based company specializes in designing and creating drones, autonomous aircraft systems, and military-grade avionics. With a fully equipped manufacturing facility, they handle everything from design and simulation to engine development and electronics.

Raphe mPhibr has introduced innovative products like the mR10, a drone swarm; the mR20, a high-altitude logistics drone; Bharat, a surveillance drone; and the X8, aimed at maritime patrol. These drones are successfully deployed in various terrains throughout India, showcasing the company’s growing significance in the market. They’ve also developed India’s first indigenous military-grade autopilot and a lightweight engine for UAVs.

Co-founded by Vikash Mishra, Vivek Mishra, and Nitin Katiyar, Raphe mPhibr collaborates with renowned defense and aerospace firms like Dassault Systèmes, HENSOLDT, and Safran Electronics & Defense. Their integration of Dassault’s 3DEXPERIENCE platform reflects their commitment to developing scalable engineering solutions that focus on national security.

Globally, interest in their systems is increasing, especially in cities like Paris, Dubai, and London, as they aim to secure a spot in the global aerospace supply chain. The fresh capital will help them boost manufacturing, ramp up research and development, and strengthen partnerships both in India and internationally.

With over 600 employees and more than 100 patents, Raphe mPhibr aligns with India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives, which emphasize reducing reliance on foreign defense systems. This focus on self-reliance is critical as countries around the world seek to bolster their domestic manufacturing capabilities, particularly in sensitive sectors like defense and technology.
