Prosecutor Claims Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Believed He Was Above the Law in Alleged Racketeering Conspiracy

NEW YORK (AP) — Sean “Diddy” Combs is on trial, facing serious charges of leading a criminal enterprise involving sex trafficking. Prosecutors say that for over 20 years, Combs used intimidation and violence to exert control, committing various crimes along the way.

During the closing arguments, Assistant U.S. Attorney Christy Slavik outlined the allegations against him. She described Combs as a ruthless leader who believed his fame and wealth made him untouchable. According to her, he engaged in acts such as kidnapping an employee and bribing hotel staff to facilitate his alleged criminal activities.

Slavik highlighted that Combs coerced former girlfriends, identified in court as Casandra “Cassie” Ventura and a witness named “Jane,” into sexual acts. She revealed that Victims were manipulated through threats and emotional control. Text messages presented in court showed how Jane felt trapped, expressing that she feared losing her home if she didn’t comply with Combs’ demands.

The prosecution revisited disturbing evidence, including security footage from 2016, which allegedly depicted Combs violently confronting Cassie after she attempted to leave a situation with another man. Slavik argued that this incident exemplifies sex trafficking, stressing that Combs employed force to pull Cassie back into the hotel.

Combs’ defense team will counter these claims, challenging the notion that there was any collusion among employees to commit crimes. They point out that no one willingly participated in a criminal conspiracy.
