Grambling State University Unlocks Millions in Funding Thanks to Landry’s Recent Appropriations Bills

Grambling, La. — Grambling State University has just received a significant financial boost. After Governor Jeff Landry signed new appropriations bills on June 30, the university will gain over $20 million to enhance its facilities and programs.

These funds come from several key legislative acts passed by the Louisiana Legislature in early June 2025:

• House Bill 1: This act grants $1.5 million for general operating support for the fiscal year 2025-26.
• House Bill 460: This includes $6.7 million for renovating and expanding athletic facilities, along with $200,000 for resurfacing College Avenue Road.
• House Bill 2: This bill allocates $2.7 million for a new academic facility focused on criminal justice and criminology, part of a larger $18.7 million project. It also designates $9.9 million for crucial infrastructure improvements and emergency repairs.
• House Bill 639: This act projects around $2 million in gaming revenue to bolster athletic programs.
