Meghan Markle’s New Napa Rosé: Why UK Fans Are Left in the Dark for Now

British fans of Meghan Markle were left disappointed when her new rosé launched—it’s only available in the U.S. The Duchess of Sussex’s lifestyle brand, As Ever, introduced its first wine: a 2023 Napa Valley rosé. This release, marked by a 4 PM BST drop, left fans in the UK unable to order the wine, priced at approximately £24 per bottle.

Currently, As Ever has no plans to ship to the UK. A source shared that Meghan is aware of the interest abroad and may consider international shipping as the brand grows.

The timing of the release fueled frustration. Many UK fans only learned about the U.S.-only restriction after the announcement went live. There’s no word on when, or if, UK orders might happen.

The rosé is a dry, Provençal-style blend, featuring Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvèdre, Grenache, and Syrah grapes, with an alcohol content of 14.5%. It’s marketed to evoke “sun-drenched weekends and summer laughter.” Shoppers need to buy in bulk: options include a three-pack for $90, a half-case for $160, or a full case for $300.

As Ever shared the launch on Instagram, showcasing the wine in an ice bucket with the caption, “Just in time for summer.”

This release is the third for the brand, which started in April. The previous items sold out quickly. Meghan was reportedly hands-on in creating this unique blend. Looking ahead, As Ever plans to introduce a Méthode Champenoise sparkling wine and more varietals in the future.

Interestingly, the wine market has seen a surge in interest recently. According to the Wine Market Council, young consumers, particularly millennials and Gen Z, are driving demand for quality wines. This aligns with the rise of lifestyle brands, where personal endorsements often lead to enthusiastic reception from fans.
