Producer Prabhleen Sandhu, who is overseeing the biopic, believes Sabu’s story is vital. “He wasn’t just a star; he represented resilience and ambition,” she said, highlighting the importance of honoring his legacy.
Majumdar mentions that Sabu’s life spanned a transformative era in cinema, which included two world wars and significant cultural changes. In 1944, he became a U.S. citizen and served in the Air Force during World War II. Despite his fame, many in India have forgotten him. He passed away at just 39 in 1963, but plans to bring his story back to life through this film are underway.
