In mid-July 2025, Samyang Corporation showcased its innovations at the International Food Technology Expo (IFT 2025) in Chicago. This annual event is one of the largest in the food tech world, attracting over 1,000 companies from around 100 countries. Samyang participated to highlight its latest developments and stay up-to-date with industry trends.

One of the standout features was their new AI-powered solution called the “3S Sugar Reduction Solution.” This tool helps customers reduce sugar in their products smartly and efficiently. Users can input their target reduction levels, ingredient costs, and specific product requirements, and the AI analyzes this data to suggest the best options using Samyang’s unique ingredients.

This solution is significant as it not only expedites product development but also allows for quick adjustments to customer needs. Samyang aims to refine this technology to cover more food categories, including ice cream and sauces. The feedback from food technologists suggests that tools like the 3S solution could shape future product offerings, especially as consumers increasingly seek healthier options.

At the expo, visitors sampled products made with the 3S solution, such as low-calorie caramel sauces and fiber-rich gummies. The main ingredients include Allulose, a sweetener that offers about 70% of the sweetness of sugar without the calories, and resistant maltodextrin, a dietary fiber that can aid digestion and help manage blood sugar levels.

Nak-hyun Choi, CEO of Samyang, emphasized the importance of innovation in the food industry. He noted, “We will continue to enhance our system to improve both the completeness and applicability of our solutions.” As low-sugar and low-calorie foods become more popular, Samyang plans to leverage these trends to expand their market presence in the U.S.

Experts predict a rising demand for healthier food products. According to a recent survey by the International Food Information Council, 77% of consumers are trying to limit the amount of sugar in their diets. This trend highlights the potential market for solutions like Samyang’s.

Samyang is also set to promote its products at upcoming expos throughout 2025 in Japan and the U.S. By focusing on health-centric ingredients and solutions, the company aims to lead the charge toward healthier food choices for consumers.
