Loma Linda University Health Showcases Its Mission at Global Seventh-day Adventist Gathering | Latest News

Loma Linda University Health recently showcased its mission at the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s General Conference Session in St. Louis. This 10-day event attracted almost 100,000 church leaders and visitors, providing a great opportunity for Loma Linda representatives to engage with attendees.

More than 30 staff members were on hand at their exhibit, focusing on educational opportunities and the “Answer Your Calling” initiative. The booth featured stunning visuals, including two video walls and charging stations for smartphones, making it inviting for prospective students and their families. Many people asked about admission requirements, and they could easily register their interest using iPads set up at the booth.

Loma Linda also teamed up with other health systems in North America to showcase their unique services and health initiatives. This collaboration highlighted the strength of the Adventist health message.

Loma Linda University health is known for its global impact in health and healing. Visitors often shared personal stories, illustrating how Loma Linda has touched their lives. For instance, one visitor, a retired OB-GYN from Venezuela, was moved to see his daughter featured in a video at the booth. She is currently doing her residency at Loma Linda, and the emotional reunion with her story captivated him. He even returned multiple days, bringing family and friends to share in the experience.

Another visitor, recently diagnosed with eye cancer, wanted to know more about Loma Linda’s innovative proton therapy. He faced a recommendation for complete eye removal from his local doctors and was hopeful that Loma Linda could offer a different approach. The staff promptly took his information to connect him with an ophthalmologist for a follow-up.

During the event, Loma Linda representatives realized that many attendees might never visit their campus in Southern California. They took pride in representing the more than 18,000 employees and 4,000 students who embody the heart of Loma Linda University Health.

In today’s world, healthcare is continually evolving. According to a recent survey by the American Hospital Association, 66% of patients are open to exploring new forms of treatment, such as proton therapy. This shows a growing interest in innovative healthcare solutions.

With a commitment to global health, Loma Linda’s insistence on compassionate care stands out. Their approach aligns with a broader trend in healthcare, where patient-centered methods are becoming more prominent. As people look for hope and healing, Loma Linda University Health remains a beacon for many, providing not just treatments but also a welcoming community.
