Unexpected Discovery: Ceramicist Finds Legs Stuck in His Mold – You Won’t Believe What Happens Next!

A few months back, ceramic artist Trevor Foster from Thailand had an unexpected moment in his studio. While working outdoors, he noticed something unusual about a mold he had just filled with slip.

“It looked like there were bubbles or maybe a leak,” he recalled. But upon closer inspection, he spotted legs sticking out of it—legs that belonged to a frog!

“It took a moment to realize what was happening,” Trevor said. When he fully understood, he sprang into action. He quickly opened the mold and extracted the tiny frog, which was encased in the slip.

Trevor shared, “It all happened so fast, I barely had time to think.” He soaked the mold in water to loosen the slip, then carefully removed the amphibian. After rinsing off the frog, he held his breath, hoping it was okay. Luckily, the little guy seemed just fine, even appearing to enjoy the surprise shower.

Once freed, the frog made a cute gesture, almost as if feeling shy. Trevor later figured out how the frog got stuck in the mold. There was a small hole on top, and to the frog, it probably looked like a cozy hideaway.

After recovering, the frog rested in Trevor’s studio for a while before it was ready to go back outside. “I placed him in a bush, and he quickly nestled under a pile of leaves,” he said.

This encounter left a lasting impression on Trevor. He plans to create a frog-inspired ceramic series to honor the experience.

Such moments highlight how interconnected we are with nature.
