From October 20 to 25, folks will gather at the Palace of the Parliament in Bucharest and other venues in Romania and Central and Eastern Europe. This summit aims to tackle local and regional climate issues through collaboration.

On its main day, October 21, the event will host expert speakers discussing pressing global climate topics. Attendees can participate in roundtable discussions and interactive sessions designed to encourage networking and creative problem-solving.

The summit is free to the public, though space is limited. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply. Priority is given to civil society members, students, and young professionals. In recent years, the summit has grown significantly. Over 4,200 people attended the last edition, reaching nearly 3 million online viewers and featuring 225 speakers. This interaction showcases a rising concern for climate issues worldwide.

Key themes for the 2025 summit include the circular economy, water management, and sustainable finance. As attendees discuss vital topics like energy security and urban development, they will explore how to shape the future of both Romania and Europe in terms of sustainability.

Flavia Popa, Secretary General at BRD Groupe Société Générale, emphasized the importance of genuine dialogue and collaboration in creating effective climate solutions. Similarly, Ciprian Stănescu, President of Social Innovation Solutions, expressed a desire for the summit to transform discussions into actionable plans.

Experts from various sectors will also share insights. Corina Dospinoiu-Imre, Sustainability Director at Auchan Retail Romania, pointed out that sustainable business practices are now essential. Additionally, Cosmin Vladimirescu, General Manager at Mastercard Romania, highlighted the role of technology in improving access to financial services, which in turn can strengthen communities against climate impacts.

  • Azadeh Farajpour Javazmi, who promotes soil quality improvements for food security.
