Slaten hasn’t pitched since May but indicated to reporters that a recent nerve issue related to his bone problem was resolved. He had a bullpen session recently and, if all goes well, he hopes to return in September. Since his MLB debut, Slaten has impressed with a 3.09 ERA over 78 2/3 innings of relief.
