Final Destination Bloodlines had an impressive opening, earning $51 million—marking a new record for the franchise. It has since made over $285 million globally, making it New Line’s third largest horror franchise after The Conjuring and It, with total earnings nearing $983 million.

Taylor, who is represented by WME and others, is known for her work on various screen adaptations. Recently, she wrote the script for The Edge of Normal, starring Chloë Grace Moretz.

Each Final Destination film starts with someone predicting a disaster, leading to a series of gruesome deaths for those who escaped the initial event. Bloodlines, the first sequel in 14 years, takes us back to 1969, adding depth to the story.

Perry shared that this shift opens up creative possibilities. He mentions, “By starting in the ’60s and jumping forward, we have more freedom to explore different timelines and make intriguing connections.” This strategy could lead to more engaging deaths that fans have come to expect.
