Penn State’s summer commencement is around the corner, taking place on Saturday, August 16, at the Bryce Jordan Center. If you’re heading to the event, here’s what you need to know about parking.
General parking will be available in the following areas:
- Jordan East: Located to the east of the Bryce Jordan Center. You can access it from Porter Road or Dauer Drive.
- Stadium West: Found to the west of Beaver Stadium, but can only be accessed from Park Avenue.
If you need ADA parking, you’ll find spots at:
- Stadium West – the southernmost row along Curtin Road and the westernmost row along University Drive.
- Jordan East – a small section by the Penn State All-Sports Museum, as well as the northernmost row along Curtin Road between Beaver Stadium Gates A and B.
- Orange L – which is near the Bryce Jordan Center Guest Entrance.
For everyone’s safety and smooth traffic, drop-offs in drive lanes are not allowed. Those with mobility issues can be dropped off in ADA-reserved areas, which are close to the entrances. It’s important to note that Curtin Road will be closed to vehicle traffic between University Drive and Jordan East during the ceremonies to keep the area safe for pedestrians.
The best part? Parking is free for all attendees, thanks to Penn State Transportation Services. You can find more details on the [Bryce Jordan Center Commencement Parking Map](https://bit.ly/3A4MGVN).

As a side note, did you know that studies show a significant percentage of people consider attending commencement ceremonies as a way to celebrate academic achievements? With many graduates sharing their experiences on social media, it’s clear that these events hold a special place in students’ hearts. Commemorating this milestone not only strengthens their personal achievements but also fosters a sense of community among graduates.
