Gone are the days of munching on just peanuts and hot dogs at sports events. Today’s fans want culinary experiences that excite their taste buds. They’re ready to enjoy popular food brands, local specialties, and dishes crafted by celebrity chefs—while sipping trendy drinks.
Thanks to a long-standing partnership between the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and Levy Hospitality, the upcoming 2025 U.S. Tennis Open is raising the bar on stadium food. It’s a haven for tennis lovers and foodies alike.
This event showcases a mix of new and beloved flavors from an impressive lineup of chefs and food vendors. This year, fans can taste dishes from Robbie Felice, a James Beard-nominated chef, who’s launching his first Italian ramen shop called pastaRAMEN. It’s a fusion of Italian and Japanese cuisine inspired by a 1950s Tokyo eatery.
Additionally, Jose Andres’s Oyamel is taking the stage with its vibrant representation of Mexican cuisine. They’ll be serving unique dishes like Yucatan-style Taco Chociata, complete with barbecued pork and fresh toppings.
Celebrity chefs make the event even more special. Michelin-starred Chef Ed Brown, Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto, and renowned Chef Kwame Onwuachi will collaborate at Aces, focusing on seafood dishes. Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli will bring her Mediterranean flair, showcasing flavors inspired by Little Italy.
Returning favorites include chef Simon Kim’s offerings, featuring chicken nuggets and a brand-new crispy chicken sandwich at the Food Village. Other renowned vendors like Carnegie Deli and Eataly will also be present, ensuring a wide variety of tastes.
When it comes to drinks, there’s no shortage. Fans can cool off with the signature Grey Goose® Honey Deuce cocktail, and Clos du Bois has joined as the official wine partner. Lavazza, the official coffee sponsor, will serve classic brews and concoct fun drinks like Espresso Martinis and a new Iced Tiramisu. They even offer a chance to win prizes through an interactive robot activity.
Food choices are meticulously curated. Daniel Zausner, COO of the USTA, mentions that not every vendor can meet the high demand during the tournament’s three-week run. With over 30% of attendees coming from outside the tri-state area and 15% internationally, the focus is on providing a true New York flavor.
Many vendors feel honored to take part. Chef Guarnaschelli shares, “Being part of the US Open is a dream come true.” Zausner suggests that while food revenue may be minimal, many fans consider it a significant part of their experience. “Food adds to the excitement,” he notes. It enhances the thrill of world-class tennis.
The 2025 US Open will run from August 24 to September 7, with special events leading up to the matches. Expect a delicious journey at the Billie Jean National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, Queens.
