Amrit Bharat Express: The Ministry of Railways is gearing up to launch Amrit Bharat 3.0 trainsets. Built on lessons learned from the earlier versions, these trains aim to provide affordable and quality travel for people with lower incomes.

Right now, there are 8 Amrit Bharat Express trains running in India. These routes include Darbhanga to Anand Vihar and Malda Town to Bengaluru, among others.

The new Amrit Bharat 3.0 trains will be designed by the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai. They plan to create a mix of Air-conditioned (AC) and non-AC coaches. U Subba Rao, the General Manager of ICF, mentioned that this blend will provide comfort while keeping costs low.

In earlier models, like Amrit Bharat 2.0, significant upgrades were made. These included modern features such as modular toilets, better lighting systems, emergency brakes, and charging sockets. The goal has always been to offer comprehensive services at a low cost.

The non-AC trains have different compartments: 11 General Class coaches, 8 Sleeper coaches, and a Pantry car. The railway plans to produce up to 100 Amrit Bharat trains to meet growing demands.

Recent statistics show that the Indian railway network has an annual ridership of around 8 billion. With this demand, the Amrit Bharat trains could greatly enhance service for many passengers.
