McNeese State Welcomes Veterans Exploring Education

Katie Starling, the Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships, highlighted that veterans can access federal aid programs without losing their benefits. “Their military benefits don’t impact federal aid eligibility, so they can benefit from both,” she explained.

Starling also stressed the importance of timely applications. “The FAFSA for the 2026/2027 school year opens on October 1. It’s best to apply early to access limited funding options, like supplemental grants,” she advised.
