Lara Trump became a Fox contributor in 2021 but left the following year due to conflicts arising from her father-in-law’s political campaign. In February, she returned to host My View With Lara Trump. Her recent episodes covered topics like the ongoing war in Ukraine and previous allegations against the Trump campaign, though she hasn’t mentioned Newsom directly.
Interestingly, Lara has accused Newsom of neglecting California, particularly in addressing illegal immigration. This kind of back-and-forth isn’t new; political figures often use media platforms to criticize each other. According to a 2023 Pew Research study, about 61% of Americans say they encounter political content on social media regularly, showing how online interactions shape political narratives today.
Despite the tensions, Newsom did acknowledge one Fox host, Jessica Tarlov, praising her as a “real winner.” She represents a rare dissenting voice on the network and commented that Newsom’s boldness could be effective in gaining attention, even if it ruffles feathers among Republicans.
