Standing 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 185 pounds, Woods has had his ups and downs. He spent time on the practice squad and played only a handful of defensive snaps last season but was recognized for his contributions on special teams.
Interestingly, the Patriots previously claimed four players after the waiver deadline last August, but none of them remain on the team. To create space for DeVito and Woods, the Patriots released veteran wide receiver Kendrick Bourne. This move could hint at a shift in strategy as the team evaluates its roster.
