A New Mural for Los Angeles: “Nourishing the Community”

On August 27, 2025, a new mural titled “Nourishing the Community” was unveiled in Los Angeles, created by renowned artist Robert Vargas. The mural also honors the dedicated staff and volunteers of Project Angel Food, who serve over 7,157 clients with medically tailored meals each year.

Los Angeles County Supervisor Lindsey P. Horvath praised the mural, stating it reflects unity and cultural pride. She noted that it encapsulates Project Angel Food’s mission of providing compassion to those in need. The mural is part of a larger expansion for the nonprofit, which aims to provide even more support to those facing serious illnesses.

Robert Vargas, a local from Los Angeles, is celebrated for revitalizing the city’s arts scene. He has created several impactful murals, including “Our Lady of DTLA” and the Ohtani mural. His latest project, “Angelus” at Pershing Square, is on track to be the largest mural by a single artist, potentially setting a Guinness World Record.
