Union, N.J. (8/29/25) – The Kean University women’s volleyball team kicked off the 2025 season with a fantastic start, winning both of their opening matches.

In their first match, Kean faced Hartwick, winning 3-1. The Cougars fought hard after dropping the first set in a close battle. They showed resilience in the third set, overcoming a 21-22 deficit with four consecutive points. A standout performance by Aubre Adams, who contributed two kills and teamed up with Aspen O’Brien for a crucial block, turned the tide. They finished the match strong, taking the fourth set by scoring seven out of eight points after being down.

Victoria Latino shined with 23 kills, while rookie Ashley Torok not only secured 14 kills but also completed a double-double with 13 digs. Adams also had a solid game, hitting .444 with nine kills and three assisted blocks.

In their second match against Trine, Kean dominated, winning 3-0. After a slow start, they found their rhythm and surged ahead with six points in a row. They enjoyed a strong lead in the second set but had to fend off a comeback from Trine. A key block from Cayley Elena Morrison helped seal that set for the Cougars.
