A recent incident at the US Open caught everyone’s attention when a man snatched a hat from a young boy. Piotr Szczerek, a Polish CEO, later said it was a “huge mistake.” He thought tennis player Kamil Majchrzak was throwing the hat in his direction.
Szczerek apologized, acknowledging that he hurt the boy and disappointed fans. Videos of the event spread quickly on social media, sparking outrage. In his apology, he also mentioned he returned the hat to the boy in hopes of making amends.
Majchrzak had just won a match against Russian player Karen Khachanov when this happened. He described the situation as a misunderstanding. “I was so tired and excited,” he explained. In the heat of the moment, he didn’t see what happened.

As of now, Majchrzak is ranked 76th in the world. Unfortunately, he had to retire from his next match due to an injury. He confirmed he tore an intercostal muscle, showing how quickly fortunes can change in sports.
