Aston, PA (September 5, 2025) – DeSales University’s volleyball team kicked off the Neumann University tournament with a strong performance against Ursinus College, winning 3-0. Sophomores Brooke Signorella and Allison Reimer were standout players, combining for 28 kills.
The match began with DeSales in the lead at 14-7. However, Ursinus rallied back, scoring 12 of the next 16 points to take a 19-17 lead. The Bulldogs fought hard, tying the set at 22. With the score tied at 24, Reimer secured a crucial kill, and first-year player Haylee Arnold sealed the set with another kill, giving DeSales a 1-0 advantage.
In the second set, DeSales found themselves down 24-20. They showed resilience, defending against four set points and then scoring six consecutive points to clinch the set 26-24. Reimer and Signorella played key roles in this comeback, recording the final two kills.
The third set belonged entirely to DeSales, who cruised to a 25-18 victory to finish off the match. Signorella led with 16 kills, hitting .286, while Reimer posted a double-double with 12 kills and 16 digs, maintaining a hitting percentage of .321. Arnold also contributed, finishing with eight kills and an impressive hitting percentage of .500.
Junior Bryanna Purisima and sophomore Ashlyn Dinan each delivered 17 assists, while sophomore Kylie Campbell anchored the defense with 14 digs.
Looking ahead, DeSales is set to face Widener University and host Neumann in their next matches on Saturday.
