Cristobal Tapia de Veer, the talented composer behind The White Lotus, recently won the Emmy for Best Original Main Title Theme Music at the 2025 Creative Arts Emmy Awards. This victory adds to his impressive accolades, making it his third Emmy for the HBO show since it debuted in 2021.

However, the win comes amidst a public clash with the show’s creator, Mike White. De Veer had previously announced he would not be part of the fourth season, stating in an interview with The New York Times that he had informed the editorial team about his departure a few months before.

As of now, The White Lotus has garnered a total of 23 Emmy nominations this year alone, underscoring its remarkable impact on television. While de Veer took home Emmys for Best Music Composition and other categories in 2022 and 2023, this year’s award for Best Music Composition went to Severance.
