The San Francisco 49ers have made some significant roster moves, signing wide receiver Kendrick Bourne to a one-year deal. Kendrick Bourne, who is 30 and hails from Portland, Oregon, started his NFL career as an undrafted free agent with the 49ers back in 2017. Over eight seasons, he’s played in 111 games, making 292 catches for 3,714 yards and 22 touchdowns. He’s also had some playoff experience, with 13 receptions for 165 yards and three touchdowns in four postseason games. Last season with the New England Patriots, Bourne played 12 games, recording 28 receptions for 305 yards and one touchdown.
Bourne attended Eastern Washington University, where he had an impressive college career. He made 211 receptions for 3,130 yards and 27 touchdowns and earned Second-Team All-Big Sky honors in his senior year.
Meanwhile, George Kittle has been making an impact despite his injury. In the team’s recent game against Seattle, he caught four passes for 25 yards and scored a touchdown.
Kicker Jake Moody had a solid stint with the 49ers, connecting on 74.2% of his field goals and 97.9% of extra points during his time in San Francisco. He also contributed during the playoffs, making six of eight field goals.
Wide receiver Robbie Chosen joined the practice squad just last month but has now been released, indicating the team is looking to adjust their roster for better performance.
These changes highlight the fast-paced nature of NFL roster management. With Kittle’s injury, the 49ers will need to rely on Bourne’s experience as they aim for a strong season. The team’s depth will be tested, and Bourne’s familiarity with the organization could be a key asset going forward.
