Myrtle Beach Golf Tournament Recap
The East Carolina men’s golf team started their season with a solid performance, finishing 10th at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate. Over three days at the Grande Dunes Golf Resort, they posted a total score of 874, which is 10 over par.
In their first round, the team shot a 292, followed by a slight improvement to 290 in the second round. They ended the tournament with another 292. Florida Atlantic claimed the championship title with an impressive 838, finishing 26 under par. They were nine strokes ahead of Clemson and Florida Gulf Coast, both tied at 847. Coastal Carolina and Elon rounded out the top five.
Leading the Pirates was senior Philip Linberg Bondestad, who scored 215 (1 under) and secured a tie for 25th place with rounds of 70, 71, and 74. Junior Nathan O’Neal finished tied for 50th with a score of 220, while senior Davis DeLille just trailed close behind at 221, finishing 52nd. Freshman Oscar Crowe finished with a score of 227, putting him tied for 73rd. Notably, sophomore Luke Mosley also played as an individual and matched O’Neal’s 220, sharing 50th place.

The Pirates will look to improve when they head to the Temple Invitational on September 22 in Philadelphia.
