Unlock a Superior Sound Experience: Lossless Listening Now Available on Spotify Premium!

Lossless Audio on Spotify Premium is finally here! This feature has been a hot topic among music lovers. Now, Premium subscribers in selected markets can experience it. Once Lossless becomes available, you’ll get a notification from Spotify. This upgrade promises the best audio quality, enhancing your listening pleasure whether you’re exploring new tunes or reliving your favorites.

Gustav Gyllenhammar, Spotify’s VP of Subscriptions, expressed his excitement: “The wait is over! We’ve focused on quality and ease of use, ensuring our Premium users have a remarkable listening experience.” With Lossless audio, you can enjoy richer sound details in every song.

This upgrade is a response to user demand and aims to elevate the Spotify Premium experience. Alongside features like AI Playlist and curated playlists, Lossless audio aims to enhance how fans discover and enjoy music.

With Lossless, you can stream tracks at up to 24-bit/44.1 kHz FLAC. This means more depth and clarity, allowing you to appreciate both new releases and cherished classics at a higher quality.

Customizable Listening Experience

Spotify understands that every listener is unique. So, they’ve introduced flexible settings for audio quality based on your connection. You can choose from options like Low, Normal, High, and now Lossless to match your listening conditions. Each setting shows the data usage, making it easier to decide what works best for you.

Lossless audio will be available not just on mobile devices but also on desktops and tablets, and it supports a variety of devices through Spotify Connect. Brands like Sony and Bose are included, with more devices coming soon.

How to Enable Lossless

To turn on Lossless audio:

  1. Tap your profile icon in the top left.
  2. Go to Settings & Privacy → Media Quality.
  3. Select how to enable Lossless audio for Wi-Fi, cellular, or downloads.

Remember, you’ll need to enable Lossless on each device individually. You’ll know it’s on when you see the Lossless indicator in the Now Playing section.

For the best experience, streaming Lossless via Wi-Fi with wired headphones is advisable. Currently, Bluetooth lacks the bandwidth to fully transmit Lossless audio, which can reduce sound quality due to compression.

While enabling Lossless may result in larger audio files, once a track is cached, you’re all set to enjoy it without interruptions.

When Can You Start Listening?

Spotify is gradually rolling out Lossless audio to over 50 markets, including the US, UK, and many European countries. By October, more users can expect access to this exciting feature.

In a recent survey, 75% of music listeners expressed a desire for improved audio quality in streaming services. As platforms like Spotify adapt to these demands, it’s clear that audio quality is becoming a priority for listeners. So, whether you’re a casual listener or an audiophile, Lossless audio promises to enhance your musical journey.
